Securing Our Future Update

Thanks to everyone who has prayed and responded to Securing Our Future...for Generations to Come.  Our hope is that everyone who considers New Grace Church their church home will respond by filling out a Response Card, whether or not they are able to make a financial commitment at this time.  Additonal Response cards are available at the church office and in the sanctuary.  Please help us by turning in your response as soon as possible.  Results of the campaign will be shared on Sunday, March 21.

Opportunities at New Grace

A Life-Giving Film -  As We Forgive - Monday, March 15, 7:00 PM in the Large Multi-purpose Room at New Grace.

Could you forgive a person who murdered your family?  This is the question faced by the subjects of As We Forgive, the 2008 Student Academy Award-winning documentary about two Rwandan women on a journey to reconcile with the neighbors who slaughtered their families during the 1994 genocide.   Watching this incredible true story of forgiveness gives hope to anyone living with the burden of unforgiveness.  Maybe you have friends and family who are suffering from unforgiveness towards those to blame for emotional or spiritual wounds in their lives.  Reach out and invite them to the showing of this powerful film.  It could be something God uses to open the door to healing and reconcilation in their lives...or your own.  Please register for complimentary childcare for children up to sixth grade by signing up on Sunday or emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. "Family Wednesdays"

6:30 - 8:30 PM with BETA (family discipleship): something for your ENTIRE family.

You and your children will both grow in your faith on Family Wednesdays.  Sign up through the office, 541-1234 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

As the name implies, Beta is a follow-up to our Alpha course.  You could think of this Christian education course as a Bible 101 class and Small Group 101 class rolled into one event.  The format will be similar to Alpha and will include programming and dinner for the whole family!  This year we are studying the Gospel of John.  It is hosted on our church campus Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 PM, and includes a catered dinner, followed by contemporary worship, Bible teaching and small group discussion in the Sanctuary.  The cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children who are eating dinner.  Call (541-1234) or email the church office if you plan to attend.  Contact Assistant Pastor Mike McDonald for details.

30 Hour Famine - Calling ALL Youth

For ALL Jr. and Sr. High students.  Friday, March 26th and Saturday, March 27th.  All fasting participants are asked to eat their last meal by 7:00 AM on Friday, March 26th and proceed through their day at school drinking plenty of fluids (no caffeine beverages).  Then all participants who are interested in sleeping overnight at New Grace Church - participating in a game of Tribe (which is to educate students further about famine in third world countries), prayer, devotion, and fellowship can report to the church by 7:00 PM.  Each student will be asked to find 12 people who will pledge $1 for each hour they go without eating.  Potentially, this will be 12 sponsors at $30 each, which equals $360.  That's enough to help provide basic food and care to a child for a year.  On Saturday, March 27th, we will have a juice breakfast, and participate in a service project until noon.  Then we will break our fast as a community at 1:00 PM at the Golden Corral on Blanding Blvd., Orange Park.  (Students will need to bring money if they choose to break the fast with the youth group.)  Students can be picked up at the church at 2:30 PM.  This year's funds will be designated for Haiti to help children who were tragically affected by the recent earthquake.  Students will have up to three weeks (deadline of April 18) to turn in money they have raised.  All participants must sign up for the 30 hour famine in the Youth Lounge by March 21st!  Contact Paul, 294-5670, or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
