Cost: $190 per person ($125 for New Grace members and friends)--includes meals* and housing at New Grace Church

*Sunday dinner through Friday evening BBQ Bonanza, with the exception of Wednesday evening, when groups go out to eat together as a community within our community.

Who can come: Those students who will be entering the 7th-12th grades in Fall of 2010

Changing Lives in Our Community

Students from across the country will come together for a week of outreach in Clay County and the surrounding Jacksonville area. Our community will benefit from the dedicated work of the students and the special service projects they will provide. Teams will go out to a variety of locations in the community each day to work on many different tasks. Projects range from painting, maintenance work, sorting of donated supplies, and packing containers bound to oversees mission sites, to hands-on experiences such as helping with a “Fun Day” in a low income housing project and feeding the homeless. Students will serve at many agencies including Quigley House, Seamark Ranch, Inner City Ministry, and the Baptist Home for Children.

Changing Lives of Our Youth

Soul in the City 2010 will provide meaningful mission support to our local community, but it’s the students who will benefit most from this week-long event. The mission is a life changing opportunity that touches kids’ lives in unexpected ways, ultimately changing their lives for Christ! Students experience first-hand what it’s like to work together to reach out like Christ and touch those in need. But one of the greatest impacts to students is the time away from home to focus on the Lord and His purpose for their lives. Students will gather each evening to hear special messages to “root” them deeper in the Word, participate in worship designed especially for Youth, enjoy performances by a Christian rock band, and spend time in fun and fellowship with other teens who are open to the direction that only God can provide. The goal of Soul in the City is to provide a catalyst for our Youth to have God-changed lives, and encourage them to reach out to others on His behalf.
