What is Alpha?

Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life by asking “big picture” questions in a relaxed, friendly, setting. The course meets on a weekly basis for 10 weeks. It also includes an amazing and life-changing weekend getaway.

Alpha is For

Anyone curious about the Christian faith. Adults of all ages are welcome.

Learning and laughter. It is possible to go deep and have fun at the same time.

People meeting together. An opportunity to meet others and make new friends.

Helping one another. Small group discussions offer discussion of issues raised during the course.

Ask anything. We mean it … anything. At Alpha, no question is seen as too simple or too hostile.

What Happens at Alpha?

Each week beings with dinner – a chance to get to know others. Then there is a short talk which looks at a different aspect of the Christian faith each week. This is followed by a time of discussion (and dessert) in small groups, where everyone is welcome to contribute their opinions and ask questions. People usually stay in the same small groups so they can get to know each other, continue discussions and deepen friendships. The emphasis is upon exploration and discovery in a relaxed and informal environment.

When and Where?

Alpha is usually offered every fall at New Grace. Keep an eye out for details on our next course!
